You know a band and its fans are getting old when they offer this collectible:

I love how this is the "Standard Edition". Does that mean we have more "Deluxe" editions coming soon? I'd hate to shell out 4K for this one and then a couple of months later have them come out with a better one; but then again I'd probably be dead already and not care so much. I'm suprised our good friends at Rhino haven't come out with their version:

Boldly emblazed with a glowing neon "Furthur" on the front of each body made from solid earth-friendly reclaimed wood harvested from planks of the origial Filmore West and lined with faux-silk woven from the finest hemp, this casket will surely conjure memories of tours long past and guarantee the user's final "trip" will be a memorable one. Each limited edition body-box comes with the option of having the newest RT releases piped into the dearly deceased Head's final resting place (for a small monthly subscription). And to be sure this "stiff shed" truly recreates the experience of a show, whenever the piped in music features a Looks Like Rain, a small Port-O-John will extend from the coffin.

Retail price: $4,999, but willing to consider trades of t-shirts, bracelets, doses or stale bagels.

And it's one of those occasions where 'Add to Cart' seems appropriate. I can just picture this on a tumbril leading a parade of pitchfork-wielding peasants through a Transyvanian village.

Thanks snori to you and SDH for the mental images . . . it's a good day here for such pranksterish dark humour.

"Bring out your dead"

Could be a mantra at a tape trading session in the old days.

"I'm not dead yet..."
"You will be. Let me spin some Europe 72."

What if you want to bring some friends on tour? Can it be extended with an upper deck?

Now you're talking a custom job. If you've got the bucks, we can trick this sucker out however you want it. We've done boxes with attached food carts, NO2 tanks, tye-dye dipping buckets and for one particular individual a special hitchhiker repellent device (consisted of a special "Bummer Spray" that combined pepper spray and soap).

all black can get monotonous

i bet fans here would prefer an organic oak wood version, painted in rainbow colours (tie-dye style) w/ a heavy bronze syf logo on top

additionally charged options for the rich and the wealthy: silver or gold syf logos instead of bronze

bonus disc (death dont have no mercy - 10 versions) w/ pre-order

oh man, years ago Howard Stern had this guy who did impressions on his show and he would do awesome Gene Simmons impressions - where the whole bit would be Gene hawking Kiss merchandide over and over. He even had Simmons on the show with this guy and he was dead on.
